1 and 1 (1)
If you are looking to consolidate your domain name into one place you will need to transfer them from your existing registrar to our systems. Here are instructions on transferring your domain names from 1and1 to Cheap Business Hosting.
Please note that some companies charge a release fee so please check with your current provider to see what charges they may impose. Also some registries or governing bodies charge a transfer fee, others are free - any costs that we incur to transfer your domain name(s) are charged to your account and will be clearly shown at the time of order. Form example Nominet, the UK registry, do not charge to transfer but domains such as .com, .net, .org do charge a transfer fee, normally equal to 1 years registration cost and will be clearly shown at the time of order. This transfer cost extends your domain name registration by 1 year and so is not an administrative fee!
Transfer your .UK domains (co.uk, me.uk, org.uk, plc.uk, ltd.uk, net.uk)
You can, assuming you did not opt out, see your domain details by looking up your domain at Nominet.org.uk. If you are transferring e-mails, websites or other details, make sure you make a back up of ALL your details on 1and1 as these will be deleted.
- Login to your 1&1 Control Panel: http://contract.1and1.co.uk.
- Log in using your 1and1 account number and password (if you have multiple domains with 1and1, choose the correct one).
- Choose the contract which contains the domains.
- Select whether you want to ‘Cancel Entire Contract’ or ‘Cancel Selected Domains’.
- Choose the “Execute On” for the domain.
- Change the cancellation option to “Change Provider”.
- Click “Continue”.
- Enter our IPS tag: GKSCOMPUTERS.
- Click “Finish”.
- 1and1 will send you an email to confirm you are the owner and complete the final transfer.
For other domains e.g.. COM, NET, ORG
- Go to the Admin control panel: http://admin.1and1.co.uk to unlock your domain
- Click ‘domains’, then select your domain and click ‘info’
- Choose Unlock on the domain you are transferring.
- Login to your 1&1 Control Panel: http://contract.1and1.co.uk
- Log in using your account number and password
- Choose the contract which contains the domains
- Select whether you want to ‘Cancel Entire Contract’ or ‘Cancel Selected Domains’
- Choose the “Execute On” for the domain
- Change the cancellation option to “Change Provider”
- You will then see the Auth Code (which will be called the ‘EPP’ code if your domain is less than six months old). Please make a note of this code as the transfer will not happen without it.
- From within your Cheap Business Hosting account page, please raise a support ticket detailing the domain name(s) you have requested to transfer to us along with their respecitve Auth / EPP Codes, as without these the transfer will fail.
- We will initiate the transfer requests on your behalf - please monitor your e-mail for a 'transfer agreement' e-mail asking you to agree or decline the transfer request.
Please Note : Do not forget to cancel your 1&1 hosting if you are no longer going to use it, otherwise 1&1 will continue to bill you for hosting services.
If you are unsure about any of the above please contact our support team who will gladly assist you!
Account Management (10)
At the top right of this page, login to your account with Cheap Business Hosting. Click on "Domains" and this will list the domains you have registered with us. To see more details about a domain, click on the icon on the right of the line which will open up a new page. In this area, you can see when the domain was registered and when it needs to be renewed. You can also update your contact details (name, address etc) - it is a requirement of the Top Level Registries that your domain contains valid and up to date contact details.
Enable or Disable Auto Renew
You can choose the option to either let our system automatically renew your domain name or disable this option which means when the domain needs to be renewed, you have to do the process manually. Click the option you require. In most cases it is recommended you leave it on Auto renew.
DNS Management
DNS Management is where you tell the system where your website and e-mails work from. Unless you know how to set up DNS management, we recommend you leave it alone as a simple mistake here could take your website and e-mails offline. If you want to change your DNS settings, please login to your account and issue a support ticket. We are more than happy to carry out any changes on your behalf.

Costs (1)
There are two parts to this answer. Please read this carefully so you understand how the registration and transfer of domains works.
If you are transfering the following domains, we will not charge you anything to do so. However your current registrar or hosting provider may charge you an "administration charge" for releasing the domain name.
Nominet, who maintain all of the .UK domains, only charge companies like us when you first register or renew your domain name over the two year period - transfers between registrars is free!
Domains which are free to transfer:
- .co.uk
- .me.uk
- .org.uk
- .ltd.uk
- .net.uk
- .plc.uk
If your domain is not in the list above there may be a charge for transfering your domain to another registrar and will clearly shown at the time of order. This however extends the registration by another year on top of any remaining registration period. Note that some registrars still charge you for transfering domains, normally when transfering away, so be careful with hidden costs.
Domains which we incur a transfer charge:
- .com
- .net
- .org
- .biz
- .info
- .us
- .name
- .eu
- .mobi
- .tel
- .it
- .me
(Note: Cheap business hosting can register all of the above and more including .in .tel and more.)

A real life example
To help explain what a subdomain is lets follow this real life example.
We will assume that you have a website that is located under your main folder "/public_html", your visitors accessing it via "www.mydomainname.co.uk" and you would like to expand your website with a blog using WordPress, with your visitors using "blog.mydomainname.co.uk" to access it.
- From within your cPanel account, use Fantastico to install "WordPress".
- During this installation you will be asked where you would like it to be installed and you have chosen "/public_html/myblog" as the folder name.
- Once this installation has completed we need to add a subdomain to your expanded website
- From your main cPanel homepage click on "Subdomain" icon (normally about halfway down then screen.)
- Now enter "blog" in the first box called "Subdomain"
- Choose the domain you are wanting to use from the drop down list.
- In the box called "Document Root" point to the folder you installed WordPress in, in our example this is "/public_html/myblog".
- Finally click on the "Create" button
- The newly created subdomain should now appear in a list, along with any other subdomains you may have running under your account.
Now when anyone types in "blog.mydomainname.co.uk" in their web browser it will open your WordPress blog.
Once you have signed up to a hosting package with Cheap Business Hosting, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how you can access your cPanel account. This is where you can administer your hosting and e-mail.
When you log in for the first time you should be presented by the start-up wizard. This wizard functions as a guide to setting up a new account. If, for whatever reason, the start-up wizard is not presented on the first login, or if it is ever necessary to reconfigure your account, you can access the start-up wizard by clicking the Getting Started Wizard icon in the Preferences area of the cPanel interface.
Language
This feature defines the default display language of the cPanel interface - currently set to English. More languages are available - please contact us via our support system if you need a language that is not provided on this screen.
To change the default language:
- Select a language in the pull-down menu.
- Click Change.
Introduction to Web Hosting
These screens contain information and set-up help on an array of topics including the disk directories, getting files to your website, the File Manager, Web Disk, and FTP Accounts. If this is your first website, we strongly recommend reading through these pages to get gain a better understanding of web site management.
Web Disk Accounts
cPanel offers a Web Disk application wherein files can be managed and manipulated using your operating system’s interface just like you had an additional hard drive installed in your PC. New users may be most comfortable with this file management method.
The Web Disk will open a window on your computer, allowing new files to be moved, deleted, or added to the server, just as you would manage files on your personal computer.
To log into a Web Disk account:
- Click the Access Web Disk button.
- Choose your operating system (OS): Windows®, Mac®, or Linux.
Remember: Choose the version or distribution of your operating system using the pull-down menu.
- Click Go under the appropriate operating system to download the script file.
- Open and run the script file, accepting any certificates.
When the Web Disk configuration is completed successfully, a new window containing your website’s content will be opened on your computer. From this window, your website’s files can be managed just like you would manage files on your personal computer.
Once you have added a Web Disk account to you server, it can be accessed quickly in the future by clicking the Access Web Disk button at the main Web Disk page. You are also able to change the password, delete, or password protect directories for existing Web Disk accounts under the Actions heading in the Web Disk Accounts Management list.
New Email Account Setup
This feature allows you to set up any new email accounts you would like to use.
To create a new email address:
- Enter the address you would like to use into the Email field.
- Don’t forget to set the domain with the pull-down menu, to the right of the Email text field.
- Enter the new password into the Password field.
- You can use the Generate Password link to have a strong password generated for you.
- Confirm the password in the Password (Again) field.
- Set the maximum amount of disk space this email address will be allowed to use in the Mailbox quota field.
Note: This setting is optional.
- Click Create.
Set Default Address
This address will receive any mail sent to an invalid email address for the current domain. The default address is also commonly called a “catch-all address.”
It is possible to define how the default address handles the incoming messages.
To set up your default address:
- Select the domain for which you wish to set up a default address.
- Click one of the following options:
- Forward to email address -- Enter the address in the text box.
- Discard with error to sender -- Enter an error message for the sender to read.
- You can also click Advanced Options to:
- Discard incoming messages without an automatic response. (Note that this option is not recommended since the sender will be unaware that the delivery failed.)
- Automatically forward messages to a program by defining a path to the program, for example /home/$utility, in the Pipe to a Program field.
- Click the Change button.
- Click Next Step.
Note: If your domain is targeted by spammers, forwarding mail to a default address is likely to yield a large amount of spam.
Webmail
Webmail allows you to access your email accounts through a web browser such as Internet Explorer®, Safari® or Firefox. The main advantage to checking your email via the web, rather than an email application on your computer, is that you can easily access your email account from any computer with an Internet connection and a web browser.
To use WebMail:
- Click Access cPanel Webmail.
- Enter your password.
- Select a WebMail client.
The email account will be opened through your browser. The WebMail client will then retrieve all read and unread messages associated with your email account.
You may also log into WebMail without accessing cPanel by entering https://example.com:2096 into your web browser, where your domain name would be entered in place of example.com. Once you provide your username and password, you will be able to select a WebMail client.
Note: To create a shortcut, drag the Access cPanel Webmail link to your desktop or Bookmarks toolbar.
When you are finished configuring WebMail, return to this screen and click Next Step.
Contact Info and Preferences
This function allows you to define the email address(es) at which the server should send you updates. These email addresses will function as the main contact point for notifying you of new information regarding your website.
It is recommended that you use an email address not affiliated with your website, as this could be useful if your website’s email stops working.
To configure these preferences:
- Enter the email address through which you would like to be contacted by the server into the first text field.
- You may enter another email address through which you would like to be contacted by the server into the second text field.
Note : This step is optional.
- Use the 3 checkboxes to select when the server should contact you. An email can be sent when:
- Your disk quota is almost full: This means that your website is close to reaching the maximum amount of disk space that you are allowed. A full disk quota results in you being unable to modify existing files or add new files to your website. Delete old or unused files, or upgrade your hosting plan, to fix this issue.
- Your bandwidth is reaching its limit: This means that your website has received the maximum amount of traffic it is allowed. When your maximum bandwidth has been reached, people will no longer be able to access your website. You must upgrade your hosting plan or purchase additional bandwidth to fix this issue. Otherwise, your site will offline until the limit is reset, this is on the first day of the following month.
- Your email accounts approach the quota: This means that one of your email addresses is close to using the maximum amount of disk space it is allowed. Delete old email, old backups, or upgrade your hosting plan, to resolve this issue.
- Click Save.
- Click Next Step.

When we create your cPanel account, the system automatically creates a "master" FTP account which provides access to all of your accounts folders. There are times when you may wish to have separate FTP accounts for different areas of your website - maybe you have clients who wish to upload or download files from your website but making sure that they are unable to see anything else on your site. Using Free FTP software like Classic FTP, FileZilla, Cyberduck you can easily drag and drop files from your own computer to your hosting account.
By the way, in case you are interested, FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol.
How to add additional FTP accounts :
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Scroll down the main page to "Files" and click on the "FTP Accounts"
- Add a name which will make up the FTP username
- Add a password. (Our system will tell you how good it is!)
- Repeat and add the password again
- Choose which directory to give access to. (Careful as you could give someone access to the wrong part of your site!)
- In Quota, select the maximum directory size you want this account to have access to, up to your maximum disk allowance.
- Click on "Create" to save details
- Click on "Home" in the top left corner to return to main screen.
Once you have set up a FTP Account, you will need the client software configuration details. Be very careful as adding the wrong information may result in blocked access.
When your cPanel is first set up, our systems automatically create a password for you to access your control panel.
You can, at any time, create a different password or let the system create one for you. Please be very careful with this option as we do not have access to your passwords and will not be able to tell you what it is - if you have problems we can only reset it for you.
Changing your cPanel password :
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Locate the "Preferences" section.
- Under here there is a icon called "Change Password".
- Where requested enter in your current password.
- Now enter in your new password in both boxes (for verification of spelling etc).
- You can opt for the system to generate one for you by clicking the "Genertate Password" button.
- Click on the button called "Change your password now".
Yes with pleasure!
If you are new to either cPanel or even the Internet, it can feel very daunting with all the technical terms etc. At Cheap Business Hosting want to make your experience enjoyable but informative so we have provided you with the meanings of various terms you will come across whilst using cPanel account:
Glossary Terms for cPanel
Account: A record for accessing private information. For example, your cPanel account lets you manage your website. In cPanel, other instances of the term “account” occur in email and FTP.
Account-Level Filter: A rule applied to a group of email accounts, that determines where email, delivered to a specific user and meeting certain criteria, will be delivered. See also Filter.
Addon Domain: An additional domain name associated with your cPanel account. Each addon domain is stored in its own directory which you can configure. This allows you to manage multiple domains from a single cPanel account. Addon domains must be registered with a domain name registrar to work.
Analog: A program that provides information about the visitors to your website in both graphical and statistical views. More information about Analog can be found at its website: http://www.analog.cx/.
Anonymous FTP: A process whereby visitors without FTP accounts may upload and download files to and from your site. Although it poses security risks, anonymous FTP can be convenient if you wish to make files publicly available for downloading. When setting up anonymous FTP, it is important to protect any sensitive information by changing file permissions and directory access permissions.
Apache: A program that receives requests from web browsers. It then responds by “serving” web pages to the browsers; for this reason, it’s called web server software.
Apache Handler: A means of telling the Apache software how to process a given type of file. By default, Apache only handles certain file types; using cPanel, you can configure Apache handlers for other file types. For more information, see Apache's handler documentation.
Authentication: A process for confirming the identity of someone with whom you want to share sensitive information. On the web, authentication usually involves either a username and password set or a public/private key pair.
Auto Responder: A feature of cPanel that allows you to set up automated replies to incoming email. This feature can be useful for confirming the receipt of mail, or for informing correspondents that the recipient is unavailable (for example, while on vacation).
AWStats (Advanced Web Statistics): A program that provides information about the visitors to your website in both graphical and statistical views. More information about AWStats can be found at its website: http://sourceforge.net/projects/awstats/.
Backscatter: Bounce email messages (or failed Delivery Status Notifications) erroneously sent to a domain whose name has been forged as the sender of spam. Using SPF on your mail server should reduce backscatter.
Backup: A copy of your website’s files, directories, databases, and email configurations. Keeping a backup copy of your website on your personal computer is a wise precaution.
Bandwidth: The amount of data transferred to and from a web server. Every time a visitor views a file (whether it’s a web page, image, video, or audio file), that file has to be transferred to the visitor’s computer. Bandwidth is the total size of all these files transferred to your visitors’ computers. It is important to keep track of bandwidth usage, as it is limited by web hosts.
Banners: Images which appear on a website, often as advertisements at the top or bottom of a page. Often, banners alternate with each successive visit to the page.
BoxTrapper: An application included with cPanel that filters spam by requiring would-be senders to reply to a verification email (also known as challenge-response verification). Only after the sender is verified through the reply will his or her original email be accepted.
BoxTrapper Blacklist: A list of email addresses from which incoming mail will be automatically blocked. cPanel automatically sends a configurable warning message upon receipt of mail from a blacklisted address. See also BoxTrapper Ignore List and Whitelist.
BoxTrapper Ignore List: A list of email addresses from which incoming mail will be blocked. cPanel does not send a warning message upon receipt of mail from an ignored address. See also BoxTrapper Blacklist and Whitelist.
BoxTrapper Whitelist: A list of email addresses from which incoming mail will automatically be accepted. See also BoxTrapper Ignore List and Blacklist.
Build: A minor version of cPanel. Builds exist in four types which are, in order from least to most stable, EDGE, CURRENT, RELEASE, and STABLE. Please visit our installation documentation for an in-depth look at each build type.
Catch-All Address: The email address to which cPanel routes any email message sent to email accounts which do not exist at your domain. Also called a Default Address.
CGI (Common Gateway Interface): A protocol that lets a web server communicate with scripts and other software. cPanel’s CGI Center provides an array of CGI scripts that let you generate and manage useful features for your website, including a guestbook, clock, hit counter, countdown clock, and banner ads.
CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing): A routing method that assigns each Internet user to a four-part IP address, with each part separated by a decimal, followed by a slash and a number between 0 and 32.
CLI (Command Line Interface): A means of communicating with a computer by typing commands. On Unix systems, this is also often called a shell.
Client: Any application that accesses a service on another computer. Web browsers such as Internet Explorer can be called web clients. FTP clients include FileZilla and Cyberduck.
cPAddons: Pieces of software that you can install on your website through cPanel. cPAddons provide useful tools to your website. Common examples include bulletin boards, chat programs, and online shopping carts.
CPAN (Comprehensive Perl Archive Network): The main repository of Perl modules, pieces of Perl software. The CPAN library (located at http://www.cpan.org) contains over 12,000 modules, most of which are free of charge. cPanel allows you to search CPAN and install Perl modules.
Cron Job: A command on a server, executed at regular intervals. These commands are stored in a Unix configuration file called crontab.
CSR (Certificate Signing Request): A request, which you send to a certificate authority, for an identity certificate. cPanel can generate a CSR for you, but since authorities vary with regard to the information they require, you should check their requirements before applying for a certificate.
Default Address: The email address to which cPanel routes any email message sent to email accounts which do not exist at your domain. Also called a Catch-All Address.
Directory (Folder): A repository for files, analogous to a file folder on your personal computer. In website management, a directory will contain your web files.
DNS (Domain Name System): The component of the Internet which acts as a “phone book,” converting human-readable domain names (such as www.example.com) into computer-readable IP addresses (such as 208.77.188.166, in the case of example.com).
Domain: The name you give your website, which will appear in your website’s URL and email addresses. Usually seen as example.com, where "example" is meant for your domain’s name.
DSA (Digital Signature Algorithm): A method of generating public and private keys for encrypting data. This algorithm was developed by the U.S. government.
Entropy Banner Manager: A script, included with cPanel, that lets you manage rotating banner images on your website.
Entropy Search: A script, included with cPanel, that creates a search engine for your website.
Error Pages: These pages display warning messages when visitors encounter problems while trying to access your site. cPanel lets you configure the error messages that display for your site. For an in-depth look at HTTP error codes, please visit our HTTP error codes documentation.
Filter: In cPanel, a tool that processes mail according to your preferences. For example, a filter can automatically discard spam or save mail from a specified sender to its own folder. In cPanel, filters can be applied to all email accounts on a domain (account-level), or customized for each individual account (user-level).
Forwarder: A tool that lets you forward a copy of every email message you receive to another address. When a forwarder is set up, you will still receive mail at the original recipient address. If, however, you create a forwarder without first creating the original address, messages will be forwarded to the end address without being sent to the original address, as it does not exist.
FrontPage®: A Microsoft® application that allows you to edit your web page in WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) format, rather than using HTML code. cPanel provides FrontPage extensions, so you can publish your site using FrontPage, allowing you to skip the FTP process. Newer versions of FrontPage allow you to publish your site using FTP or WebDAV. See the FrontPage User Manual for more information about publishing.
FTP (File Transfer Protocol): A method of transferring files from one computer to another. cPanel comes equipped with an FTP server that can be configured to your preference. An FTP client must be installed on your computer in order to send files to and receive files from the FTP server. Some FTP clients include FileZilla (for Windows®, Linux, and Unix), and Cyberduck (for Mac®).
FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name): A name that uniquely defines a domain’s location. It is usually seen as host.example.com. with a trailing dot. For the purposes of cPanel, including a final dot is not necessary, but the domain name must contain at least 2 dots.
GnuPG (GNU Privacy Guard): Free encryption software that lets you generate a matching public and private key. These keys are useful for keeping files private during transfer.
gzip: A program which compresses files for quick transfer. The compressed files use the filename extension .gz.
Home Directory: Your cPanel account’s highest-level directory, which contains all the files and directories used by websites managed through your account. Files placed in your home directory are not viewable online unless they reside in the public_html directory or a subdirectory of public_html.
HotLink: Also known as an “inline link.” A hotlink is a direct link that embeds a file (such as an image or video) from your site into another website. When another site embeds your files, it is using your bandwidth to serve those files.
.htaccess: A file that resides in a specific directory, and contains configuration information applying to all the information in that directory. The .htaccess file may also contain authentication instructions.
HTML (Hypertext Markup Language): The language in which most pages on the World Wide Web are written.
.htpasswd: A file that resides in a specific directory, along with an .htaccess file. The .htpasswd file contains encrypted password information when authentication has been set up for the directory.
HTTP (Hyptertext Transfer Protocol): The method (protocol) for transferring data over the Internet.
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol): Along with POP3, one of the two most widely used email transfer methods. IMAP synchronizes email account information with the mail server on a regular basis. If you log in to multiple computers to check your email, IMAP will allow you to see what messages you have viewed, replied to, forwarded, etc. POP3 does not allow you to see this information.
Index Page: The page viewed by default when a visitor accesses a directory of your website. If no index page exists for the specified directory, the visitor will see a list of files in that directory, unless you turn off indexing in cPanel. This page is typically index.html, index.htm or index.php.
IP (Internet Protocol) Address: A number that identifies a computer on a network, making it possible for other computers to find and communicate with it.
Java: A computer programming language used by many web applications. cPanel uses the Java language to provide the SSHTerm and Java Telnet features. These small applications, which run within the context of a web browser, are called applets.
Key: In cryptography, a key is used to encrypt or decrypt information. Keys are an important part of encryption and security and should be guarded appropriately.
Leech: A visitor who uses another person’s password to access a restricted area of a website. cPanel allows you to prevent leeching by redirecting likely offenders or disabling accounts whose passwords have been compromised.
Legacy: A term for an old software program or computer system that is still in use.
Local Host: An easy way to refer to the computer that you are currently working on.
Log: A file, automatically created by the server, that records activities performed by or on the server. For instance, error logs are lists of errors that visitors have encountered on your site.
Mailing List: A list of email addresses which list members can use to communicate. Alternatively, such a list can be used to send email messages to a large group of people. cPanel uses a program called Mailman for mailing list software; for more information, please see its website, http://www.list.org.
MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) Type: Now called an Internet media type, this component of a file identifies the file type, so that web browsers know how to handle it. cPanel lets you specify which application should be used to open files with a given extension.
MX (Mail eXchanger) Entry: A record that specifies where email should be sent for a domain, as it contains the mail server’s IP address. If you are using an email scanning service or custom mail delivery, you may need to change the MX record for your domain.
MySQL: This term refers to a database management tool, as well as the type of database it manages. Such databases are integral to applications like bulletin boards and retail shopping. cPanel provides an integrated MySQL interface as well as a MySQL database editing tool called phpMyAdmin.
Nameserver: A computer that contains a list of domain names and their corresponding IP addresses. These computers are spread through the Internet and allow you to find where a domain is located. Nameservers gather data about domains over time; therefore, changes to DNS records can take up to a week to reach all the nameservers on the Internet (or “propagate”).
Parked Domain: A second domain that points to your primary domain. When users attempt to access the parked domain, they will see your main website. For example, both http://www.cpanel.net and http://www.cpanel.com go to the same place, as cpanel.com is a parked domain for cpanel.net.
PEAR (PHP Extension and Application Repository): A repository of PHP code. cPanel allows you to search for and install PEAR packages consisting of PHP programs which can perform useful functions for your website.
Perl: Known for its ability to process text, Perl is a useful language for web applications. Perl applications are commonly found as .pl, .pm, and .cgi files and may require Perl modules. Perl modules can be installed within cPanel.
Perl Module: A piece of software written in the Perl language. Modules are common pieces of software that are reused often. For example, rather than writing a set of functions to display calendars, you can simply use a calendar module.
PHP: A computer scripting language in which many web-based applications are written. PHP applications are commonly found with the filename extensions .php, .php4, or .php5. Some PHP applications require PEAR packages, which can be installed in cPanel through the PHP PEAR Packages feature.
PHP Package: A piece of software written in the PHP language.
phpMyAdmin: A graphical application that allows you to manipulate and manage MySQL databases over the Internet. Full documentation for phpMyAdmin can be found at its creators’ website: http://www.phpmyadmin.net.
POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3): Along with IMAP, one of the two most widely used email transfer methods. POP3 simply copies every message in your email account to your local computer. No information is sent back to your email account about message replies, forwarding, etc. If you use multiple computers to check your email, it is advised that you use IMAP instead of POP3.
POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface): A standardized collection of commands for the Unix operating system.
Private Key: A string of characters that a computer uses to encode or decode encrypted messages it receives. Encryption schemes use a matching pair of keys (one public, one private) to create a secret code so that anyone looking at messages sent from or received by your computer will be unable to determine the contents of those messages without access to the private key. A private key is integral to protecting your confidential information and should be safeguarded appropriately.
Proxy: In computing, a computer or program that serves as an intermediary between two other entities. For instance, a proxy server receives a request from a client, finds the requested resource, and returns it to the client. You can use the cPanel Proxy to access to your cPanel interface when normal access is blocked (for example, from behind a firewall).
Public Key: A string of characters that a computer uses to encode or decode encrypted messages it receives. A public key is provided to anyone you wish to send sensitive information to. Typically, a public key will be placed on a server so you can access that server with encryption.
public_ftp: The subdirectory, located inside your home directory, that holds files available for public download. This is the default directory users will access when they connect to your site via anonymous FTP.
public_html: The subdirectory, located inside your home directory, that holds the files that make up your website. The www directory is a link to public_html. Any files and folders inside of public_html are visible over the Internet, unless you specifically protect them with password protection or using a .htaccess file.
Redirect: A feature that allows you to send visitors who try to access one URL to another URL. cPanel allows you to set up either temporary or permanent redirects. Redirects are useful when you change the URL of a page on your website. You can put up a redirect at the old URL to make sure your visitors are automatically sent to the new URL.
Referer: A web page which links to your site; also called an “HTTP referer.” This spelling is the industry standard term, though it is based on a misspelling of “referrer.”
Root: Specific to Unix and Unix-based systems, a computer account, used by a system administrator, which carries full privileges for configuring a computer system. Also called “superuser.”
RSA: An algorithm for generating public and private keys when sending encrypted data between a local machine and a remote machine. The name of this method is not an abbreviation; it is named after its three inventors.
SCP (Secure Copy Protocol): A method of transferring encrypted files from one computer to another. This method prevents data from being intercepted and read.
Shell: Software that allows you to interact with a computer. Many Unix shells allow you to type commands, and are often referred to as CLIs, or command line interfaces.
Shortcut: A link to an application which allows you to access it from a convenient location, like your computer’s desktop.
Spam: Chiefly, unsolicited email sent in bulk, usually by an automated system. As spam is considered a costly nuisance to the recipient, cPanel includes features like SpamAssassin and BoxTrapper that can cut down on the amount of spam received.
SpamAssassin: An application which can filter suspected spam before you receive it. SpamAssassin can be configured to filter spam more or less aggressively, according to your needs. Learn more about SpamAssassin at its website: http://spamassassin.apache.org/.
SPF (Sender Policy Framework): A feature that allows a recipient server to verify that an email message has really been sent from from the domain specified in the From: field. Enabling SPF can prevent your server from receiving replies to spam that has forged your domain name as part of the sender’s address. SPF only works if both the sending and receiving mail servers have SPF enabled.
Spoofing: In email, this term is used to describe the forgery of a domain name as the sender in the header of an email. Enabling SPF makes it more difficult for spammers to spoof your domain.
SSH (Secure Shell Handler): A network protocol that allows a user to log into a remote machine user account securely. cPanel can create keys for authenticating your identity during SSH login, and provides a Java applet for accessing SSH through your web browser.
SSL Certificate: An electronic document (using the filename extension .crt) which binds a public key to an identity consisting of an email address, company, and location. This electronic document is a key piece in an authentication process.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)/TLS (Transport Layer Security): TLS is simply the more recent version of SSL. Both are cryptographic schemes that allow for secure interaction between a web browser and a web server. All sensitive data (credit card numbers, login information, etc) that is transmitted over the internet should be protected by SSL/TLS. You can install an SSL certificate on your web site to allow your site to be protected by SSL/TLS.
Subdomain: A subsection of your website that exists as a subdirectory in your home folder. If your domain were example.com, then the subdomain URL would appear as subdomain.example.com.
Tar: Originally derived from “Tape Archive,”a program that collates files for transfer or distribution. Files processed by this program are usually compressed, commonly called “tarballs,” and use the filename extension .tar. Due to the compression commonly used, .tar often precedes the .gz file extension.
Tarball: A file collated by the tar program, and usually compressed.
Telnet: A network protocol that allows a user to log into a remote machine user account remotely. Telnet is similar to SSH, but less secure. Telnet should not be used to connect to your web site except for testing purposes. Login information is sent through Telnet as plain text and can be easily intercepted.
Thumbnail: A version of an image file that is reduced in size, allowing for easy viewing of multiple images. cPanel includes a Thumbnailer tool as part of its Image Manager section.
Thumbnailer: A cPanel tool that automatically sizes down all the images in a directory. The new thumbnails are stored in a subdirectory named */Thumbnails, where * is meant to represent the parent directory containing the original images.
URI (Universal Resource Identifier): On the web, a URI is a string of characters that identifies a website. URI is often used synonymously with the terms “URL” and “web address,” although there are technical differences among the three.
URL (Universal Resource Locator): On the web, a URL is a string of characters that identifies the location of a website. Since IP addresses are difficult to remember, URLs are used instead. For example, it is much easier to remember to go to http://www.example.com than http://208.77.188.166. URL is often used synonymously with the terms “URI” and “web address,” although there are technical differences among the 3.
User: A person who uses a computer to accomplish some purpose.
Visitor: A person who views your website.
Web Browser: An application used to view and interact with sites and pages on the World Wide Web. Examples include Firefox®, Internet Explorer®, and Safari®.
Web Disk: A feature of cPanel that lets you manipulate your web files by dragging and dropping, just as you do on your local computer’s operating system.
Web Root: The top-most directory of your website (namely, public_html or www), inside which all of the files and subdirectories for your website reside.
Web Server: A program, such as Apache, which receives requests from clients (web browsers), retrieves the requested web pages, and “serves” them to the clients.
Webalizer, The: A program that displays various statistics for your website using tables and graphs. Full documentation for The Webalizer can be found at its creators’ website: http://www.webalizer.com.
Webmail: Any application which allows you to access your email through a web browser. The main advantage to webmail is the ability to access your email account from any computer connected to the Internet without having to install or configure a specific mail program.
WHM (WebHost Manager®): Companion software to cPanel, designed for web hosts.
www: For the purposes of cPanel, www is a link to the directory that holds the files that make up your website (/public_html).

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is a protocol developed by Netscape in 1996 which quickly became the method of choice for securing data transmissions across the Internet.
SSL is an integral part of most Web browsers and Web servers and makes use of the public-and-private key encryption system developed by Rivest, Shamir, and Adleman.
In order to make an SSL connection, the SSL protocol requires that the website's hosting server has a valid SSL digital certificate installed. A digital certificate is an electronic file that uniquely identifies individuals and servers. Think of a digital certificate as a kind of digital passport or credential which authenticates the website or server as being who they say they are, prior to the SSL session being established.
Typically, digital certificates are signed by an independent and trusted third party to ensure their validity. The "signer" of a certificate is known as a Certification Authority (CA), such as VeriSign, Thawte and GeoTrust but there many other providers.
DNS Management (1)
Domain Names (8)
Cheap Business Hosting can register a wide range of domains.
The most common for the United Kingdom is .co.uk but that does not mean you cannot use others. Some people will be a whole range of Domains to protect their business name being used by others.
Please see the details of each of our hosting packages as we include some of these domains for you.
WARNING: Some hosting companies do not register your domain in YOUR NAME, they register it in THEIR NAME, thereby it would be seen as "their name". We always register Domains in your Name and you ALWAYS have full Control.

This Registration Agreement ("Agreement") sets forth the terms and conditions of your use of domain name registration and related services ("Services"). In this Agreement "you" and "your" refer to you and the registrant listed in the WHOIS contact information for the domain name. "We", "us" and "our" refer to the registrars listed at the bottom of this document, any one of which will be the registrar for your domain name and all of which share common ownership, common terms and conditions, and a shared Services infrastructure. To determine which registrar your domain name is registered with, perform a WHOIS lookup at http://www.whois.com. You obtain the Services first through a Primary Service Provider, eNom, Inc., with whom we, UK Net Hosts Ltd, have a wholesale relationship. Your relationship with your Primary Service Provider may be governed by additional terms, as you and your Primary Service Provider may agree. "We," "us" and "our" does not include your Primary Service Provider, except when specifically mentioned or unless your Primary Service Provider is one of us (i.e. if your Primary Service Provider is also one of the registrars listed at the bottom of this document).
YOU AGREE TO THIS AGREEMENT: By using the Service(s), you agree to all terms and conditions of this Agreement, the UDRP (defined below) and the rules, policies, or agreements published in association with specific of the Service(s) and/or which may be enforced by ICANN, the registries, and governments.
PASSAGE OF TIME: This Agreement will change over time. If, as a result of such a change, you no longer agree with the terms of this Agreement, you agree that your exclusive remedy is to transfer your domain name registration services to another registrar or request of us that we cancel your domain name registration services. If you continue to use the Services following a change in this Agreement and/or the Services, your continued use of the Services indicates your consent to the changes. Any such revision or change will be binding and effective within 30 days of when the revised Agreement or change to the Service(s) is posted to the website of either the Primary or Backend Service Providers, or 15 days after you view the revised Agreement or 15 days after notification is sent to the e-mail address provided in association with your domain name registration. You agree to review this Agreement periodically to make yourself aware of any such revisions.
YOUR ACCOUNT: You must create an account to use the Services. Your account is typically going to be managed and/or provided by your Primary Service Provider. You are responsible for maintaining and updating all login IDs, passwords, and for all access to and use of your account by you or any third party.
SERVICE(S) PROVIDED AT WILL AND TERMINATION OF SERVICE(S): We and your Primary Service Provider may reject your domain name registration application or elect to discontinue providing Service(s) to you for any reason within 30 days of a Service initiation or a Service renewal. Outside of this period, we and your Primary Service Provider may terminate or suspend the Service(s) at any time for cause, which, without limitation, includes registration of prohibited domain name(s), abuse of the Services, payment irregularities, serious allegations of illegal conduct, or if your use of the Services involves us in a violation of any Internet Service Provider's ("ISP's") acceptable use policies, including the transmission of unsolicited bulk email. You agree that if we terminate or suspend the Services provided to you under this Agreement, that we may then, at our option, make either ourselves or a third party the beneficiary of Services which are substantially similar to those which were previously providing to you and that any reference in this Agreement to termination or suspension of the Services to you includes this option. If we have grounds to terminate or suspend Service(s) with respect to one domain name or in relation to other Service(s) provided through your account, we may terminate or suspend all Service(s) provided through your account, including Service(s) to other domain names. No fee refund will be made when there is a suspension or termination of Service(s) for cause. At any time and for any reason, we may terminate the Services 30 days after we send notice of termination via mail or email, at our option, to the WHOIS contact information provided in association with your domain name registration. Following notice of termination other than for cause, you must transfer your domain name or risk that we may delete your domain name or suspend or modify Services to it. If we terminate Services for a reason other than cause, we will attempt to refund your fees. You further acknowledge and agree that your registration of a domain name is subject to suspension, cancellation or transfer by any ICANN procedure, by any registrar or registry administrator procedures approved by an ICANN-adopted policy, to correct mistakes by us, another registrar or the registry administrator in administering the domain name or for the resolution of disputes concerning the domain name.
OUR SERVICES: We are accredited registrars with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ("ICANN") for Top Level Domain Names ("TLDs") (such as .com, .net, .org, .de, co.uk, etc.). ICANN oversees registrations and other aspects of the TLDs. Domain name registrations are not effective until the registry administrator puts them into effect. For a list of registry administrators and for more information on TLDs, see http://www.icann.org/tlds/. Domain name registrations are only for limited terms, terms which end on the expiration date. For domain names which are created as a new registration out of the available namespace, the term begins on the date the domain name registration is acknowledged by the applicable registry; for domain names registrations which were not returned to the available namespace, the term begins on the date the previous registrant's domain name registration was acknowledged by the applicable registry. You agree that we and your Primary Service Provider are not liable or responsible in any way for any errors, omissions or any other actions by the registry administrator arising out of or related to a request to register, renew, modify the settings for, or transfer of a domain name registration (our limitation of liability is explained further, below). You further agree that domain name registration is a service, that domain name registrations do not exist independently from services provided pursuant to this or a similar registration agreement with a registrar, and that domain name registration services do not create a property interest.
YOU WARRANT THAT YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES IS NOT GOING TO SUBJECT US TO ANY CLAIM(S). You further agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless us, your Primary Service Provider, and applicable registry administrator(s) (including Verisign Inc., Neulevel, Inc., Public Interest Registry, Afilias Limited, and other registry operators listed at http://www.icann.org/registries/listing.html) and all such parties' directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages and reasonable legal fees and expenses) arising out of, or related to, the domain name registration services you are obtaining from us.
NOT INCLUDED IN THE SERVICES: Without limitation, the following are not included in the Services: We cannot and do not check to see whether the domain name(s) you select, or the use you make of the domain name(s), or other of the Service(s), infringes legal rights of others. It is your responsibility to know whether or not the domain name(s) you select or use infringes legal rights of others. We might be ordered by a court to cancel, modify, or transfer your domain name; it is your responsibility to list accurate contact information in association with your account and to communicate with litigants, potential litigants, and governmental authorities. It is not our responsibility to forward court orders or other communications to you. We will comply with court orders unless you contact us to contest the order.
IF LAWSUIT(S) ARE THREATENED: If we are sued or threatened with lawsuit in connection with Service(s) provided to you, we may turn to you to indemnify us and to hold us harmless from the claims and expenses (including attorney's fees and court costs). Under such circumstances, you agree that you will, upon demand, obtain a performance bond with a reputable bonding company or, if you are unable to obtain a performance bond, that you will deposit money with us to pay for our reasonably anticipated expenses in relation to the matter for the coming year. Such deposit will be drawn down as expenses are incurred, with all account notices sent to the WHOIS contact information provided in association with your domain names and/or account. We shall not be obliged to extend you any credit in relation to such expenses and we may terminate the Services for a failure to make or renew such a deposit. We will return any unused deposit upon the later of one year from deposit or the conclusion of the matter.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION POLICY: You agree to the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy ("UDRP"), which is available at http://www.icann.org/udrp/udrp-rules-24oct99.htm and http://www.icann.org/dndr/udrp/policy.htm . You agree that the UDRP may be changed by ICANN (or ICANN's successor) at any time. You agree that, if the registration or reservation of your domain name is challenged by a third party, you will be subject to the provisions specified in the Dispute Policy in effect at the time your domain name registration is disputed by the third party. You also agree that, in the event a domain name dispute arises with any third party, you will indemnify and hold us harmless pursuant to the terms and conditions of the UDRP. You also understand that it is important for you to regularly monitor email sent to the email address associated with your account and domain names because, among other reasons, if a dispute arises regarding Services provided to you, you may lose your rights to receive the Services if you do not respond expeditiously to an email sent in conjunction therewith.
FEES: As consideration for the Service(s), renewal of the Service(s), and, if you select it, automatic renewal of the Service(s), you agree to pay, prior to the effectiveness of the desired Service(s), the applicable Service(s) fees. All fees are non-refundable, in whole or in part, even if your domain name registration is suspended, cancelled or transferred prior to the end of your then current registration term, unless this Agreement specifically provides for a refund. At our option, we may require that you pay fees through a particular payment means (such as by credit card or by wire transfer) or that you change from one payment provider to another.
CREDIT CARD AND OTHER CHARGES: If you have an issue with credit card charges, you should contact your Primary Service Provider (if any), first, and us, secondarily, regarding the issue before you contact your credit card company to request a charge back or reversal of the charges. In the event of a charge back by a credit card company (or similar action by another payment provider allowed by us) in connection with your payment of fees for any Service(s), you agree that we and/or your Primary Service Provider may suspend access to any and all accounts you have with us and/or your Primary Service Provider and that all rights to and interest in and use of any domain name registration(s) services, website hosting, and/or email services, including all data hosted on our systems and/or on the systems of your Primary Service Provider shall be assumed by us or your Primary Service Provider, as the case may be. We will reinstate your rights to and control over these Services solely at our discretion, and subject to our receipt of the unpaid fee(s) and our then-current reinstatement fee, currently set at £200(GBP). Reinstatement of Service(s) by your Primary Service Provider may be according to the terms, if any, between you and your Primary Service Provider relating to reinstatement. Charges for the Service(s) which use our credit card payment processor will be identified on your credit card statement as "Domain Name Registration." We are not responsible for how charges appear on your credit card statement when the transaction is processed by your Primary Service Provider's or another third party's credit card payment processor.
EXPIRATION AND RENEWAL OF SERVICE(S): You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to keep your own records and to maintain your own reminders regarding when your domain name registration or other Services are set to expire. As a convenience to you, and not as a binding commitment, we and/or your Primary Service Provider may notify you via an email message or via your account when renewal fees are due. Should these fees go unpaid, your Services will expire or be cancelled. Payment must be made by credit card or such other method as we may allow or require from time to time. If you select automatic renewal of the Service(s), we may attempt to renew the Service(s) a reasonable time before expiration, provided your credit card or other billing information is available and up to date. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to keep your billing information up to date and that we are not required to, but that we may, contact you to update this information in the event that an attempted transaction is not processed successfully. *please note: for certain TLDs, the automatic renewal option is not available
ACCOUNT CONTACT INFORMATION AND DOMAIN NAME WHOIS INFORMATION: As further consideration for the Service(s), you agree to provide certain current, complete and accurate information about you, both with respect to your account information and with respect to the WHOIS information for your domain name(s). You agree to maintain and update this information as needed to keep it current, complete and accurate. With respect to you, the administrative, technical, and billing contacts for your domain name registration(s) and other Service(s), you must submit the following: name, postal address, e-mail address, voice telephone number, and where available, fax number. You agree that the type of information you are required to provide may change and you understand that, if you do not provide the newly required information, your registration or and/or other Service(s) may be suspended or terminated or may not be renewed. Not providing requested information may prevent you from obtaining all Service(s). You may provide information regarding the name-servers assigned to your domain name(s) and, if we are providing name-server services to you, the DNS settings for the domain name. If you do not provide complete name-server information, or if you purchase "Name Only" Services, you agree that we may supply this information (and point your domain name to a website of our choosing) until such time as you elect to supply the name-server information or until such time as you elect to upgrade from "Name Only" Services.
YOUR OBLIGATIONS AND REPRESENTATIONS RELATING TO THE ACCOUNT AND WHOIS CONTACT INFORMATION: In the event that, in registering a domain name or obtaining other Service(s), you provide information about or on behalf of a third party, you represent that you have (a) provided notice to that third party of the disclosure and use of that party's information as set forth in this Agreement, and (b) that you have obtained the third party's express consent to the disclosure and use of that party's information as set forth in this Agreement. By registering a domain name or applying for other Service(s) you also represent that the statements in your application are true and you also represent that the domain name is not being registered or the Services being procured for any unlawful purpose. You acknowledge that providing inaccurate information or failing to update information promptly will constitute a material breach of this Agreement and will be sufficient basis for suspension or termination of Services to you. You further agree that your failure to respond for over ten (10) calendar days to inquiries by us concerning the accuracy of account and WHOIS contact information shall constitute a material breach of this Agreement and will be sufficient basis for suspension or termination of Service(s) to you. As indicated elsewhere in this Agreement, you understand that it is important for you to regularly monitor email sent to the email address associated with your account and WHOIS contact information because, among other reasons, if a dispute arises regarding a domain name(s) or other Service(s), you may loose your rights to the domain name(s) or your right to receive the Service(s) if you do not respond appropriately to an email sent in conjunction therewith.
ACCESSING YOUR ACCOUNT AND AN IMPORTANT LIMITATION OF OUR LIABILITY: In order to change any of your account or domain name WHOIS information, you must access your account with your Primary Service Provider (if any), or your account with us. Please safeguard your account login identifier and password from any unauthorized use. You agree that any person in possession of you account login identifier and password will have the ability and your authorization to modify your account and domain name information. We will take reasonable precautions to protect the information we obtain from you from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction of that information and that such reasonable precautions include procedures for releasing account access information to parties who claim to have lost account access information. You agree that, if we take reasonable precautions in relation thereto, that IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE IF SUCH REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS DO NOT PREVENT THE UNAUTHORIZED USE OR MISUSE OF YOUR ACCOUNT IDENTIFIER OR PASSWORD AND THAT, EVEN IF WE FAIL TO TAKE REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS, THAT OUR LIABILITY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL BE LIMITED BY THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY PROVISION FOUND BELOW IN THIS AGREEMENT. If you contact us alleging that a third party has unauthorized access to your account or domain names, you agree that we may charge you administrative fees of £90 (GBP) per hour for our time spent in relation to the matter, regardless of whether or not we return control over the account and/or domain names to you.
TRANSFERS: You agree that transfer of your domain name(s) services shall be governed by ICANN's transfer policy, available at http://www.icann.org/transfers/, as this policy may be modified from time to time. You agree that we may place a "Registrar Lock" on your domain name services and that this will prevent your domain name services from being transferred without your authorization, though we are not required to do so. By allowing your domain name services to remain locked, you provide express objection to any and all transfer requests until the lock is removed. To transfer your domain name(s) you should first login to your account to lock or unlock your domain name(s) and/or to obtain the EPP "AuthCode" which is required to transfer domain services in an EPP registry (such as .org). Alternatively, you should contact your Primary Service Provider to have your domain name(s) services locked or unlocked or to obtain the EPP "AuthCode." If your Primary Service Provider is unresponsive, you may contact us to have your domain name(s) locked or unlocked or to obtain the EPP "AuthCode" though we may first contact your Primary Service Provider to request that the Primary Service Provider address the request. Only the registrant and the administrative contacts listed in the WHOIS information may approve or deny a transfer request. Without limitation, domain name services may not be transferred within 60 days of initial registration, within 60 days of a transfer, if there is a dispute regarding the identity of the domain name registrant, if you are bankrupt, or if you fail to pay fees when due. We will follow the procedures for both gaining and loosing registrars as outlined in ICANN's transfer policies. Transfer requests typically take five business days to be processed. A transfer will not be processed if, during this time, the domain name registration services expire in which event you may need to reinstate the transfer request. You may be required to resubmit a transfer request if there is a communication failure or other problem at either our end or at the registry. AS A CONSEQUENCE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ASSUME ALL RISK FOR FAILURE OF A TRANSFER IF THE TRANSFER PROCESS IS INITIATED CLOSE TO THE END OF A REGISTRATION TERM.
PRIVACY POLICY: You agree and consent that we will make available the domain name registration information you provide or that we otherwise maintain to the following parties: ICANN, the registry administrator(s), and to other third parties as ICANN and applicable laws may require or permit (including through web-based and other on-line WHOIS lookup systems), whether during or after the term of your domain name registration services of the domain name. You hereby irrevocably waive any and all claims and causes of action you may have arising from such disclosure or use of such information. Additionally, you acknowledge that ICANN may establish or modify the guidelines, limits and/or requirements that relate to the amount and type of information that we may or must make available to the public or to private entities, and the manner in which such information is made available. Information regarding ICANN's guidelines and requirements regarding WHOIS can be found at http://www.icann.org/registrars/wmrp.htm, http://www.icann.org/registrars/wdrp.htm, and elsewhere on the ICANN website at http://www.icann.org/index.html. You agree that we may make publicly available, or directly available to third parties, some, or all, of the information you provide, for purposes of inspection (such as through our WHOIS service) or for targeted marketing and other purposes as required or permitted by applicable laws. One of the ways that we may make some or all of the information you provide available to the public or third parties is by way of bulk WHOIS data access provided to third parties who enter into a bulk WHOIS data access agreement with us. Please click here if you would like your WHOIS information made available for bulk access. We reserve the right to discontinue providing bulk WHOIS data access to third parties.
OWNERSHIP OF INFORMATION AND DATA: You agree and acknowledge that we own all database, compilation, collective and similar rights, title and interests worldwide in our domain name database, and all information and derivative works generated from the domain name database. You further agree and acknowledge that we own the following information for those registrations for which we are the registrar: (a) the original creation date of the registration, (b) the expiration date of the registration, (c) the name, postal address, e-mail address, voice telephone number, and where available fax number of all contacts for the domain name registration, (d) any remarks concerning the registered domain name that appear or should appear in the WHOIS or similar database, and (e) any other information we generate or obtain in connection with the provision of domain name registration services, other than the domain name being registered, the IP addresses of the primary nameserver and any secondary nameservers for the domain name, and the corresponding names of those nameservers. We do not have any ownership interest in your specific personal registration information outside of our rights in our domain name database.
AGENTS AND LICENSES: You agree that, if you are registering a domain name for or on behalf of someone else, you represent that you have the authority to nonetheless bind that person as a principal to all terms and conditions provided herein. You agree that if you license the use of the domain name registered to you to a third party, you nonetheless remain the domain name holder of record, and remain responsible for all obligations under this Agreement, including but not limited to payment obligations, and providing (and updating, as necessary) both your own full contact information, and accurate technical, administrative, billing and zone contact information adequate to facilitate timely resolution of any problems that arise in connection with the domain name and domain name registration.
USE OF FREE SERVICES: In consideration for providing additional optional Services for which we do not charge an additional fee, including, but not limited to, URL forwarding, email forwarding, free parking page, free website hosting, free email services, or other services which we may introduce from time to time but for which there is not a separate fee ("Free Services"), you agree that, if you use such Free Services, we may display advertising in conjunction therewith through the use of pop-up or pop-under browser windows, banner advertisements, audio or video streams, appendices to emails, or other similar advertising means, and that we may aggregate related usage data by means of cookies and other similar means. You agree that from time to time we may provide you with free or low-cost domain name(s) services ("Promotional Name(s)"). If we do so, the services for the Promotional Name(s) will be placed in the same account as your other domain name(s) and you will be listed as the registrant, though we may point the Promotional Name to IP address(es)of our choosing. If you want to assume control over the services provided to the Promotional Name, including the right to transfer or push the Promotional Name service to other registrars or other accounts or the ability to control the DNS settings for the Promotional Name, you must pay the promotional registration fee or renewal fee, if any, and agree to the terms of this Agreement with respect to such Promotional Name(s). If you do not want the Promotional Name services, you may request that you be removed as the registrant of such Promotional Names and we will be listed as the domain name registrant. Alternatively, you may contact us or your Primary Service Provider to request that we delete the Promotional Name from the namespace. For any domain name services, including these Promotional Names, for which you are listed as registrant but for which you do not pay the registration or renewal fee, you agree that we may assign name-servers to the domain name and point the domain name to IP address(es) designated by us until the registration or renewal fee is paid.
AFTER EXPIRATION OF THE TERM OF A DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION: Immediately after the expiration of the term of domain name registration services and before deletion of the domain name in the applicable registry's database, you acknowledge that we may direct the domain name to name-servers and IP address(es) designated by us, including, without limitation, to no IP address or to IP address(es) which host a parking page or a commercial search engine that may display advertisements, and you acknowledge that we may either leave your WHOIS information intact or that we may change the contact information in the WHOIS output for the expired domain name so that you are no longer the listed registrant of the expired domain name.
Reactivation Period Process : For a period of approximately 30 days after expiration of the term of domain name registration services, you acknowledge that we may provide a procedure by which expired domain name registration services may be renewed. You acknowledge and agree that we may, but are not obligated to, offer this process, called the "reactivation period." You acknowledge that you assume all risks and all consequences if you wait until close to or after the expiration of the original term of domain name registration services to attempt to renew the domain name registration services. You acknowledge that we, for any reason and in our sole discretion, may choose not to offer a reactivation period and that we shall not be liable therefore. You acknowledge that reactivation period renewal processes, if any, may involve additional fees which we and your Primary Service Provider may determine. You acknowledge and agree that we may make expired domain name services(s) available to third parties, that we may auction off the rights to expired domain name services (the auction beginning close to the end or after the end of the reactivation period), and/or that expired domain name registration services may be re-registered to any party at any time.
After the reactivation period, you agree that we may either (i) discontinue the domain name registration services at any time thereafter, (ii) that we may pay the registry's registration fee or otherwise provide for the registration services to be continued, or, (iii) if we auctioned the domain name services to a third party, that we may transfer the domain name registration services to such third party.
In the case of (i), above, you acknowledge that certain registry administrators may provide procedures by which discontinued domain name registration services may nonetheless be renewed. You acknowledge and agree that we may, but are not obligated to, participate in this process, typically called the "Redemption Grace Period" ("RGP"). You acknowledge that we, for any reason and in our sole discretion, may choose not to participate in the RGP process with respect to any or all of your domain name registration services and that we shall not be liable therefore. If available, RGP typically ends between 30 and 42 days after the end of the reactivation period of the domain name services, as the reactivation period applied to you. The typical RGP fee is £160 plus any registration fees. You agree that we are not obliged to contact you to alert you that the domain name registration services are being discontinued.
In the case of (ii), above, you acknowledge that we may then set the name-servers and the DNS settings for the domain name services, that we set the DNS to point to no IP address or to IP address(es) which host parking page(s) or a commercial search engine that may display paid advertisements, and you acknowledge that we may change the contact information in the WHOIS output for the expired domain name so that you are no longer the listed registrant of the expired domain name. You acknowledge that we do not have to pay you any of the proceeds, if any, we may earn as a result. You agree that we are not obliged to contact you to alert you that the domain name registration services are being continued. In this case, the domain name will be designated as being in the extended redemption grace period ("ERGP"), and you will be allowed to assume, during the first 120 days of the then extant registration term, complete management of the domain name services, including the right to control the DNS settings, provided that you pay a fee of £160 (GBP) plus any registration fees. After the end of the 120-day period, if you do not exercise your rights under this provision, you agree that you have abandoned the domain name services, and relinquish all rights and use of the domain name services.
In the case of (iii), above, the third party who won the auction for the domain name services will control the domain name services, including control over the WHOIS information and the DNS settings. You may recover the domain name registration services for a period of up to 42 days after the end of the reactivation period, as such reactivation period applied to you. You agree that we are not obliged to contact you to alert you that the domain name registration services are or were auctioned. You acknowledge that we do not have to pay you any of the proceeds, if any, we may earn as a result of such an auction. To exercise your rights to recover auctioned domain name services, you must contact us and provide us with a certified letter addressed to "Expiration Recovery" and including documents setting forth your identity and address, which identity and address must be the same as that of the registrant as it was listed in the WHOIS information for the domain name services prior to expiration, a copy of a commonly accepted (in the United States) picture ID (such as a drivers license or passport) which supports your identity and address claim, a front and back photocopy of your credit card and you must a statement authorizing payment of the reinstatement fee to such credit card, which is $160 plus any registration fees. In doing so, you must provide us with sufficient time to allow us to receive and evaluate your documents and to contact the auction winner prior to the end of 30 days after the end of the reactivation period of the domain name services.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
YOU AGREE THAT WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY (1) SUSPENSION OR LOSS OF THE SERVICE(S), INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION SERVICES, (2) USE OF THE SERVICE(S), INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION SERVICES, (3) INTERRUPTION OF OUR SERVICES OR INTERRUPTION OF YOUR BUSINESS, (4) ACCESS DELAYS OR ACCESS INTERRUPTIONS TO OUR WEB SITE(S) OR SERVICE(S) OR DELAYS OR ACCESS INTERRUPTIONS YOU EXPERIENCE IN RELATION TO A DOMAIN NAME REGISTERED WITH US; (5) LOSS OR LIABILITY RESULTING FROM ACTS OF OR EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL (6) DATA NON-DELIVERY, MIS-DELIVERY, CORRUPTION, DESTRUCTION OR OTHER MODIFICATION; (7) THE PROCESSING OF AN APPLICATION FOR A DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION; (8) LOSS OR LIABILITY RESULTING FROM THE UNAUTHORIZED USE OR MISUSE OF YOUR ACCOUNT IDENTIFIER OR PASSWORD; OR (9) APPLICATION OF THE DISPUTE POLICY. YOU ALSO AGREE THAT NEITHER WE NOR YOUR PRIMARY SERVICE PROVIDER WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS) REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF WE OR YOUR PRIMARY SERVICE PROVIDER HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR OR YOUR PRIMARY SERVICE PROVIDER'S MAXIMUM AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR REGISTRATION OF THE DOMAIN NAME, BUT IN NO EVENT GREATER THAN TWO HUNDRED GB POUNDS (£200.00 GBP). BECAUSE SOME COUNTRIES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, IN SUCH COUNTRIES, OUR AND/OR YOUR PRIMARY SERVICE PROVIDER'S LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
INDEMNITY: With respect to ICANN, the registry operators, us, and your Primary Service Provider, as well as the contractors, agents, employees, officers, directors, shareholders, and affiliates of such parties, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold such parties harmless from all liabilities, claims and expenses, including attorney's fees and court costs, for third party claims relating to or arising under this Agreement, the Service(s) provided hereunder, or your use of the Service(s), including, without limitation, infringement by you, or by anyone else using the Service(s) we provide to you, of any intellectual property or other proprietary right of any person or entity, or from the violation of any of our operating rules or policies relating to the Service(s) provided. Such written assurances may include, in our sole discretion, the posting of a performance bond(s) or other guarantees reasonably calculated to guarantee payment. Your failure to provide such assurances may be considered by us to be a breach of this Agreement by you and may, in our sole discretion, result in loss of your right to control the disposition of domain name services for which you are the registrant and in relation to which we are the registrar of record. This indemnification is in addition to any indemnification required under the UDRP.
REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES: YOU REPRESENT THAT, TO THE BEST OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND BELIEF, NEITHER THE REGISTRATION OF A DOMAIN NAME NOR THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY USED NOR THE USE OF OTHER OF THE SERVICE(S) INFRINGES THE LEGAL RIGHTS OF A THIRD PARTY. YOU FURTHER REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT ALL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY YOU IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR PROCUREMENT OF THE SERVICE(S) IS ACCURATE. ALL SERVICE(S) ARE PROVIDED TO YOU "AS IS" AND WITH ALL FAULTS. EXCEPT FOR OUR STATEMENT REGARDING OUR ACCREDITATION AS ICANN-APPROVED DOMAIN NAME REGISTRARS, WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SERVICE(S), INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, UNLESS SUCH REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES ARE NOT LEGALLY EXCLUDABLE. WITHOUT ANY LIMITATION TO THE FOREGOING, WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER THAT REGISTRATION OR USE OF A DOMAIN NAME UNDER THIS AGREEMENT WILL IMMUNIZE YOU EITHER FROM CHALLENGES TO YOUR DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION, OR FROM SUSPENSION, CANCELLATION OR TRANSFER OF THE DOMAIN NAME REGISTERED TO YOU. YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT ANY MATERIAL AND/OR DATA DOWNLOADED OR OTHERWISE OBTAINED THROUGH THE USE OF OUR E-MAIL FORWARDING OR OTHER EMAIL SERVICE IS DONE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK AND THAT YOU WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM OR LOSS OF DATA THAT RESULTS FROM THE DOWNLOAD OF SUCH MATERIAL AND/OR DATA. WE MAKE NO WARRANTY REGARDING ANY GOODS OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED THROUGH OUR E-MAIL SERVICE(S) OR ANY TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO THROUGH OUR E-MAIL SERVICE(S). NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED BY YOU FROM US SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY MADE HEREIN. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION FOR DISPUTES: Except as otherwise set forth in the UDRP or any similar ccTLD policy with respect to any dispute over a domain name registration this Agreement, your rights and obligations and all actions contemplated by this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the United States of America and the State of Washington, as if the Agreement was a contract wholly entered into and wholly performed within the State of Washington. You agree that any action brought by you to enforce this Agreement or any matter brought by you and which is against or involves us and which relates to your use of the Services shall be brought exclusively in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, or if there is no jurisdiction in such court, then in a state court in King County, Washington state. You consent to the personal and subject matter jurisdiction of any state or Federal court in King County, Washington state in relation to any dispute between you and us under this Agreement. You agree that service of process on you by us in relation to any dispute arising under this Agreement may be served upon you by first class mail to the address listed by you in your account and/or domain name WHOIS information or by electronically transmitting a true copy of the papers to the email address listed by you in your account and/or domain name WHOIS information. Notwithstanding the foregoing, for the adjudication of third party disputes (i.e., disputes between you and another party, not us) concerning or arising from use of domain names registered hereunder, you acknowledge and agree that you shall submit, without prejudice to other potentially applicable jurisdictions, to the jurisdiction of the courts (a) of the domain name holder's domicile, and (b) where we are located, currently Bellevue, W.A.
NOTICES: You agree that any notices required to be given under this Agreement by us to you will be deemed to have been given if delivered in accordance with the account and/or domain name WHOIS information you have provided.
INFANCY: You attest that you are of legal age to enter into this Agreement.
GENERAL: This Agreement and the UDRP, together with all modifications, constitute the complete and exclusive agreement between you and us, and supersede and govern all prior proposals, agreements, or other communications. Nothing contained in this Agreement shall be construed as creating any agency, partnership, or other form of joint enterprise between the parties. The failure of us to require your performance of any provision hereof shall not affect the full right to require such performance at any time thereafter; nor shall the waiver by us of a breach of any provision hereof be taken or held to be a waiver of the provision itself. In the event that any provision of this Agreement shall be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law or be so held by applicable court decision, such unenforceability or invalidity shall not render this Agreement unenforceable or invalid as a whole. We will amend or replace such provision with one that is valid and enforceable and which achieves, to the extent possible, our original objectives and intent as reflected in the original provision. This Agreement may not be amended or modified by you except by means of a written document signed by both you and an authorized representative of us.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, CentralNic reserves the right to modify its domain name services in order to comply with any such Third Party Obligations.
2.You must have the right to use the name which will form the prefix of the domain name and which will be issued by CentralNic. By applying to register the domain name you warrant to us that you have that right.

4. If you are a registrar, you may apply to register the domain name on behalf of, and in the name of, a third party (if you are an Internet Service Provider, for example) and/or register the domain name in your own name on behalf of a third party provided that you have their prior consent and agree at any time on request by that third party to de-register the domain name which was registered in your name and allow that third party to register it in their name. In either case the prices you charge your customers ("Registrants") are at your discretion. CentralNic reserves the right to immediately cancel without notice the domain name if CentralNic reasonably believes that you have registered a domain name in breach of clause 2 or with the intention of defrauding a third party.
5. In the event of registering a ccTLD .LA domain name you shall require all Registrants to enter into an electronic or written registration agreement including at least the following provisions:
5.1 the Registrant shall provide to the registrar accurate and reliable contact details and promptly up date them during the term of the .LA domain registration including: full name, name of organisation, association or corporation (if applicable) postal address, email address, voice telephone number, and fax number if available; name of authorized person in the case of Registrant that is an organization association or corporation.
5.2 A Registrant's provision of inaccurate or unreliable information or its failure to promptly update information provided shall constitutes material breach of the registration agreement and shall be a basis for cancellation of the .la registered domain name.
5.3 You shall accept written complaints from third parties regarding regarding false or inaccurate data on the .LA WHOIS database of registrants and follow any other policies published by LA Names from time to time. These may be found at the CentralNic registry console interface.
6. If you apply to register the domain name on behalf of a third party (a client, for example) and you are registered on the CentralNic database as a billing contact, CentralNic, at its option, will be entitled to receive any payments due in respect of the domain name registration from you or the relevant third party. You and the third party shall be jointly and severally liable in this regard.
7. The initial period of registration of the domain name is a whole number of years between two years and ten years. A 100-year registration period is also allowed for certain domain names. One-year registrations may also be allowed at the discretion of CentralNic. LA domain names specifically may be registered for a period of 1 to ten years. Thereafter, the registration may be renewed for further years provided that you pay the appropriate renewal fee on or before the relevant renewal date. It is your responsibility to ensure that you apply to renew the domain name registration before the renewal date and provide accurate and up to date contact details. Whilst CentralNic endeavours to send reminders of renewal dates it does not guarantee to do so and will not be liable if you fail to renew any registration on time.
8. You may surrender the registration of the domain name at any time by notice in writing to CentralNic.
9. Once the domain name and your full details have been entered in the CentralNic database no refund will be payable by CentralNic.
10. Unless you have selected the option to opt-out, the details you supply will be published using CentralNic's WHOIS service. CentralNic reserves the right, subject to data protection legislation, to publish registrants' details in other circumstances, including to governmental or law enforcement agencies, to third parties with a legitimate reason for requesting the information, and on production of a court order.
11. Domain names are registered on a first come, first served basis.
12. There is no guarantee that a domain name applied for has been entered on CentralNic's database until you receive confirmation of registration. You are advised not to, and CentralNic accepts no liability arising from, any action taken in respect of the use and/or registration of the domain name before you have received such confirmation and full payment has been made and received by CentralNic.
13. Acceptance of applications to register the domain name is at the sole discretion of CentralNic. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, CentralNic may refuse to accept such application if the domain name:
(a) is currently registered;
(b) is on the list of reserved words (this list is not available for public scrutiny);
(c) is obscene or otherwise deemed to be unsuitable by CentralNic in its sole discretion.
Acceptance of a domain name by CentralNic shall not be construed as CentralNic approving or agreeing that you have the right to register that name.
14. The fees for the registration of, and renewal of registrations of, the domain name are those posted on the CentralNic website. CentralNic shall be entitled to invoice you for the registration for the domain name on receipt of an application to register for the domain name and for the renewal of the domain name registration on or before the renewal date. Payment must be made within the period stated in the invoice. If CentralNic does not receive payment within such period CentralNic is entitled, at its option, either to suspend or to delete the domain name registration from the database and if deleted, the domain name may be made available for registration to the public. If suspended, CentralNic reserves the right to charge you for resumption of the registration of the domain name.
15. CentralNic may at its sole option, cancel the registration or suspend registration of the domain name if:
(a) ordered to do so by a court of competent jurisdiction; and to comply with any applicable laws, government rules or requirements, requests of law enforcement in compliance with any dispute resolution process
(b) the use of the domain name is illegal;
(c) if there is a breach of these terms and conditions, including without limitation, clause 2;
(d) the continued use of a domain name could cause technical problems on the Internet, or the integrity or stability of the registry
(e) following the Dispute Resolution Policy posted on CentralNic's website the name has been judged to infringe the trademark or other intellectual property of the complainant.
(f) if CentralNic believes that the domain name was registered for use in a "phishing" attack or other illegal activity of any kind.
(h) if inaccurate or false contact details are provided.
(i) if CentralNic deems it necessary in its discretion to: 1) avoid any liability, civil or criminal on the part of CentralNic or LA Names, as well as their affiliates, subsidiaries and subcontractors, employees, and stockholders or each of them, 2) for violation of these Terms and Conditions,
(j) CentralNic reserves the right to freeze or lock a domain name during a resolution of a dispute.
16. You agree to keep the monetary terms of the provision of domain names services confidential. CentralNic agrees to keep confidential your confidential business and technology information other than your Account contact information and other information which CentralNic, in its sole discretion, deems necessary to disclose in order to effectuate transfers, to investigate or implement any policing activity, to respond to lawful discovery requests, or to otherwise achieve the legitimate business purposes of provide domain name services. The obligations of this section shall not restrict any disclosure by either party pursuant to any applicable law, or by order of any court, government agency, or ICANN and shall not apply to information that is independently developed by the disclosing party or is publicly known.

CentralNic gives no warranty and makes no representation in respect of the domain names registered hereunder including, without limitation, the availability of any domain names and hereby excludes, to the fullest extent permitted by law, all conditions, warranties, terms, undertakings and representations, express or implied, whether by statute, common law or otherwise in relation to such domain names.

(g) downtime; and/or
(h) any damage relating to the procurement of any substitute services.
For the avoidance of doubt, neither the types of loss and/or damage specified in sub-clauses (a) to (h) inclusive of this clause 16 nor any similar types of loss and/or damage shall constitute direct loss for the purposes of these terms and conditions.
19. In no event shall CentralNic's liability to you whether in contract, tort, by statute or otherwise exceed the registration fee for the domain name.
20. Nothing in this Agreement shall exclude or restrict the liability of either party for fraudulent misrepresentation and/or for death or personal injury arising as a result of the negligence of that party, its officers, employees, agents and/or sub-contractors.

This is not a problem as you can always transfer it on to our systems or if you know what you are doing, have the domain name controlled elsewhere, pointing to our systems. If you are unsure what to do with you have an existing domain name, please contact our support team who are more than happy to talk through the options available to you.
Domains (6)
When you register a domain name, you can in most cases move it from one registrar to another but there are a few TLD's [Top Level Domains] that can not be switched between registrars - you should have been informed of this at the time of ordering. The transfer process is quiet easy and can take between 24 to 72 hours to complete depending on the registrar you are originally registered with or what kind of domain name you have.
If your Domain name is a .uk (.co.uk, org.uk, .net.uk, plc.uk etc) it is held with Nominet who do not charge to transfer a domain from one to another registrar. They do however charge £10 + VAT to change the registrant details [the current legal owner] but this cost would only apply if you sell the name on to a different person or company.
If you have a non-UK domain, you will incur a charge for moving it as we are charged by the governing body. Some of you may also be charged an "Administration Fee" by your existing registrar to move or released your domain name.
If you have any questions about transferring domains please contract our team - we are here to help!
If you are looking to consolidate your domain name into one place you will need to transfer them from your existing registrar to our systems. Here are instructions on transferring your domain names from FastHosts or UKReg to Cheap Business Hosting.

Google Analytics is a free service from Google which can monitor the performance of your website. This system provides detailed information including how many visitors your website is getting, how long do visitors stay on your website, are new or returning visitors. Google Analytics also monitors other aspects of your website including links in and out of your site, the visitor's country and which language visitors speak, Goals and much more. Armed with this kind of information you can really start to target your website to the market place you are aiming for.
Using the Google Analytics module in Drupal is very quick and easy to set up and in no time at all, you will be able to see how well your website is doing using Google Analytics.
To install and activate this module, you will need to have the following already installed or set up:
- Software to un-zip the module file
- FTP Software already configured to see your server files
- A Free Account with Google
- A Drupal CMS website already loaded on your Server
- Extra File Folders within your Drupal Installation
How to Set up the Drupal Google Analytics Module
- Download the Google Analytics Module from Drupal to your local computer by Clicking here This will open a new window in your browser
- The file you have downloaded will need to be un-packed before you can load to Drupal. This is done on your local computer.
- Using your FTP Software, Connect to your website folders (See our "FTP Knowledge Base" for further information)
- If you have not already done so, please read our FAQ on how to add modules to Drupal by Clicking here. Using your FTP programme navigate your way to the folder called: sites/default/modules. This should be located under your "public_html" folder.
- Now using your web browser, visit your Drupal website and login.
- In your Menu, Click on Administer and then Modules under the "Site Building" heading.
- Scroll down the page until you see the Google Analytics module and select the box beside it. Scroll down the page and click "SAVE"
- Click on Administer at the top of the page in the breadcrumb or on your navigation menu
- Scroll down under "Site configuration" and click on Google Analytics heading
For the next part, you will need to in a new tab or window in your browser, open Google analytics
- Log into your Google Analytics account by using your Google username and password. If this is the first time you have done this, you will be asked to confirm a few details
- Once you have successfully logged in, head for the section or link called "Add Website Profile»" Click on this link
- In the first option, we would suggest you keep this to "Add a Profile for a new domain"
- Type in the name of your website (in most cases you want to add the www.) making sure you choose the right prefix. This in most cases will stay as "http".
- Click on Finish to save and a new page will open up.
- If the details you have supplied are OK, you will see some code given to you. You do not need to install the code as directed by the website Make a note of the "UA-" number that is given within the displayed code.
- Go back to your Drupal website and the configuration page for the Google Analytics module and insert the "UA-" number as requested.
- Scroll down the page and choose which options you want to change. (We would recommend you leave them as their defaults for now unless you know what you are doing!)
- Click "SAVE" at the bottom of the screen and your Google Analytics Module is now integrated within your site
Leave this for about ten minutes and then go back to your Google account and at the top or bottom of the screen, you will see a "Test" button. If there is no problems, you will see a "Waiting for Data" come up in the Status. It can sometimes take a little longer so dont panic straight away if Google cannot find it first time.
Please read this carefully as you may end up loading modules into the wrong folder!
You may have have already seen but there are hundreds of different modules available for Drupal, many of which are free to use! Please see our Download Section for some of the most popular modules available.
Loading a Module into your Drupal CMS System
- Start by downloading the module you would like to use onto your local computer. We are assuming that you have obtained the module either from our website or Drupal's own site. If not, don't worry as the procedure is the same!
- The module will normally be provided in a "Zip format" so you will need a piece of software like winzip or 7-zip to extract the single zip file into is proper directory and file structure. The action of extracting will do this automatically.
- For the next step you will need to use a FTP client software. If you do not have one or have not set it up to your hosting account, please visit our "File Management knowledgebase" for further information.
- Opening your desired FTP client software navigate from your root folder looking for the folder "public_html". Please select this folder so that the files and folder beneath it are displayed.
- Under the public_html folder look for the directory called "site". Within this folder you will have two sub-folders called "All" and "Default", please select "All".
- Assuming that this is first time you have uploaded modules, you are advised to create two new folders in this within this folder. Using your FTP client software please create a "New Folder". This option is normally available by right clicking in the folder that you want to create the file or folder in - please see your FTP software's instructions for further information.
- Within the folder "All" please create a new subfolder called "themes".
- Repeat step 7 and create a folder "modules".
- You now need to select the folder on your local PC that contains the new Module and it's files. In most FTP programs this is shown as the left hand window and the server's files as the right hand one.
- On the local computer side of your FTP program, locate the folder of the extracted files & folders for your Module you wish to upload.
- Click on the module's folder in the left hand window so that it is highlighted and then press on the "upload" option to transfer the Module and it's files to the server. Depending on how big the files are will depend on how long it will take to upload - normally only a minute or two.
- Once uploaded, you can go back to your Drupal website and see the Module in the settings within the Administration section of your site. From here you will need to configure the module as specified in it's own documentation.
Please read this section carefully so that you load your theme into the correct folder!
There are hundreds of different themes available for Drupal, many of which are free to use. See our "Download Section" under your account for a sample of the wide range of themes available. There are also many purchasable themes from various designers around the world.

Glossary (1)

For the purposes of cPanel, including a final dot is not necessary, but the domain name must contain at least 2 dots.

gzip: A program which compresses files for quick transfer.

We agree that it is possible to get cheaper hosting in the United States or other contries but there are downsides to buying the "cheapest hosting".Page loading times are one of the biggest killers for your site; hosted many, many miles away from your main client base will show as a potential "slow website". The further away your site is from your clients, the further the data has to travel, the greater the chance of encountering a problem with Internet traffic flow or "bottlenecks", not to mention your frustration of delays when you're working or editing your site. The other major downside is the Customer Support service these companies can offer. Many of which only offer an online support system or a phone number which is only answered when they are at work! Remeber the time differences between the UK and the USA!?!? Your Search Engine Results can be effected by you hosting your website anywhere else apart from the country you are marketing too. Most of the major search engines look for how long it takes or your site to fully load and where it is located, possibly rating for the country it is hosted in and not the country you are trying to sell to!. We advise that you spend slightly more and get the best possible results.
No!In simple terms, anyone who is looking for hosting for anything Illegal, pornographic, file sharing, illegal downloading/distribution, sites containing offensive or discriminating material, racial or religious hatred, chat rooms or betting will need to look elsewhere!! We will not host these kind of websites on our servers. Anyone one found with this kind of site will have their account suspend with immediate effect. Please read our Terms of Service for full information
Of course you can!
You can either send us a pre-sales e-mail via our e-mail support centre by clicking here
You can also give us a call on 0844 6696684
We also love to get ye olde fashioned thing called a "Letter"

SSL and Security (6)
There are two main online security problems that SSL certificates help solve:
- Authentication - proving a company's (or server's) identity online and in so doing create a sense of trust and confidence in using a Web site.
- Encryption - offering protection for the data submitted to a Web site (or between servers) so that in the event of interception, it will be unintelligible without the unique key used for decryption.
Solving these security problems allows online business to protect against the following scenarios:
- Spoofing - The low cost of Web site design and ease with which existing pages can be copied makes it all too easy to create illegitimate sites that appear to be published by established organizations. In fact, con artists have illegally obtained credit card numbers by setting up professional-looking storefronts that mimic legitimate businesses.
- Unauthorised Disclosure - when information is transmitted "in the clear", it is possible for hackers to intercept the data transmissions and obtain sensitive information from customers.
- Data alteration - the content of a transaction can be intercepted and altered en route, either maliciously or accidentally. User names, credit card, and social security numbers as well as currency amounts; indeed any information sent "in the clear" is all vulnerable to alteration.
The most common deployment for SSL protection is the securing the transmission of financial information within an e-commerce area. However, with the incidences of identity theft on the rise, protecting the transmission of a broad range of personally-identifiable information is becoming ever more important. This kind of data that is useful in an identity fraud situation would include identity and social security numbers, bank account details, passport numbers, e-mail addresses and demographic information as well
as account registration and login information.
In terms of applications and protocols, SSL Certificates can be used to secure the following:
- Web Servers
- Mail Servers
- Databases
- FTP Sites
- Internet Chat
- NNTP

Themes (1)
Please read this section carefully so that you load your theme into the correct folder!
There are hundreds of different themes available for Drupal, many of which are free to use. See our "Download Section" under your account for a sample of the wide range of themes available. There are also many purchasable themes from various designers around the world.
Cheap Business Hosting's Design service
Cheap Business Hosting provide a full website design and integration service to update and convert your website into Drupal. In this service we work with you to create a "theme" [a look and feel] adding the necessary modules that will work behind the scenes giving you a site that beats your competitors! For further information on our Drupal site building service please contact our sales team.
Loading a theme into your Drupal CMS System
- First download your chosen theme(s) to your local computer from either our website or drupal.org. Most themes will be provided in a 'zip file' format so you will need a piece of software like winzip or 7-zip to extract the files.
- You now need to open your preferred FTP Client. If you not sure what this is or have not set it up to your hosting account, please visit our "File Management" section of the knowledgebase for further advice.
- Once you have logged into your hosting account with your FTP client you will be directed to the "root folder" [think of this as the starting point]. Scroll down to you see a folder called "public_html". Click on this to open this folder.
- Scroll down the page and click on the file called "site". Within this folder you should have two sub-folders called "All" and "Default", Click on "All".
- We recommend that you create two new sub-folders in this area so that any updates to Drupal should not effect your themes or modules.
- Using your FTP client create a new folder and call it "themes".
- Using your FTP client reate a new folder and call it "modules"
- Now select your new themes folder.
- On the local computer side of your FTP program, locate the extracted theme and its files that you wish to upload. These files are normally under their own sub-folder.
- Select the folderand then press on the "upload" or "transfer" option to copy the files to the server. Depending on how big the files and the speed of your connection this could take a minute or two!
- Once the upload is complete you can go back to your Drupal website and see the theme under the settings section.
Transferring (6)
If you are looking to consolidate your domain name into one place you will need to transfer them from your existing registrar to our systems. Here are instructions on transferring your domain names from FastHosts or UKReg to Cheap Business Hosting.

- Now click on the domain name you are looking to transfer.
- You will now see a screen full of various information about your domain name - click on the left hand side option called 'Authorisation Code - send by email'.
- This will send the EPP transfer code to the e-mail address contained within the Administrative Whois Record.
- This EPP code is needed on our system to authorise a transfer between registrars.
- Repeat this EEP Code request for each domain you are looking to transfer away.
- You can now log out of GoDaddy
- Log in to your client account with Cheap Business Hosting.
- Place a new order to 'transfer a domain' completing the required fields.
- Whilst logged in to your Cheap Business Hosting account page, please raise a support ticket detailing the domain name(s) you have requested to transfer to us along with their respecitve Auth / EPP Codes, as without these the transfer will fail.
- We will initiate the transfer requests on your behalf - please monitor your e-mail for a 'transfer agreement' e-mail asking you to agree or decline the transfer request.
- Once we have received your transfer order we will process it and keep you informed of it's progress.

If you are looking to consolidate your domain name into one place you will need to transfer them from your existing registrar to our systems. Here are instructions on transferring your domain names from FastHosts or UKReg to Cheap Business Hosting.
